Bodhi of the Ravaging Sea - Seas

Do you own any silly captain's hats?

If not, why on earth not? If so, tell me about them.

Do you have a favorite work of fiction? If so, what is it?

You've mentioned that you go boating; about how often are you lucky enough to pull such off?
I wanted to do something ocean related for my nation name so I think I just looked up synonyms for the ocean and I picked 'the Seven Seas' and I just cut the 'the' so it sounded snappier. But why ocean related? Well, I do spend a lot of time on it and I liked the idea of a country that solely existed on it.

I own only one captain's hat, which is not silly thank you very much. It's blue with a black brim that has gold leaves on it, and it has two gold crossed anchors the front. It has an adjustable black strap with those little snappy things. I have no idea where I got it.

I love and have quite a few books, many fiction, so I'm not sure if I have a definite favorite. But maybe 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Well I'm on a boat while writing this. I stay on our boat at the dock quite often, and I take out the small Zodiac I mentioned earlier and go sailing (though I don't own a sailboat myself). But I never really go on long trips (mostly because I don't have time or the means).

If you could go back to any nautical time and be an adventurer, which would you go to?

Have you ever taken part in a cleanup after ocean tanker spills?

If you could make a boat without physical limitations what kind of boat would you design?
North Atlantic, through and through. Why? I don't spend much time on any other and it's just so nice and cold, foggy, windy, and wild.

Huh, that's a hard decision. I'd love to migrate with the Polynesians, but also raid with the Vikings, or plunder with pirates, or explore the "New World," or race to the pole with Amundsen. But I think the last I mentioned would be my choice. During the last age of exploration when there was still lands to discover.

Unfortunately, no. We don't have many up here, I don't think, and I'm still in school. So the opportunity hasn't arisen. But when it does I will!

Probably an extremely seaworthy, light, 60', wooden sailboat. Since you say no physical limitations, said sailboat can go 10 times wind speed and plane, while maintaining a perfectly steady heeled position, as well as sail as close as 10 degrees into the wind. Of course this boat needs another function. So let's give it an A-frame gantry and an aft work deck to operate an ROV from.

Why exactly do you feel such a draw to the sea? Is it even something you can articulate?

What's your opinion on yachts?

What's your opinion on flying boats?

How nautical would you say you are?
BBR/Dixie.

It's short for Big Bad Redneck. Obviously.

Whatever it was, I plead the twenty-first

I'm late on this reply because I've been thinking about your first question, but to no real avail. But I can try to articulate it as best as I can.

I'm drawn to the sea not by my own decisions, but because I have to. I didn't wake up and say "hey, I should be drawn to the sea." I always have, so I can't find a cause since I know no beginning. But in short, the sea is and represents the most beautiful parts of life and the world. But I do not worship it, for it is no sapient being. Nor do I disrespect it. I am a romanticized agnostic, and in this world the most holy thing to me is the sea.

Yachts are great, uh, yeah!

It's not a boat if it doesn't touch the water at all, so a flying boat is a seaplane as I see it.

More than almost everyone I know. I don't (yet, very much yet) live on a boat, nor have I sailed the world or done other more sailory things. So, on the Beaufort Nauticalness Scale I would be a 9 (out of 12) which amounts to "Very nautical minded, yet not exactly living the sailors life. Does not yet swear like a sailer, but uses maritime lingo constantly. Is firmly planted in the nautical lifestyle."

So you wanna live on a boat. Tell me more about this hypothetical boat for the living.

What color is the North Atlantic?

Opinions on black cats?

I'm saving up, hopefully, for a small power or sail boat, probably under 30 feet. Not sure where I'll end up with it though, but that's the beauty, I can go anywhere with my home. I almost pulled the trigger on one, but backpedaled pretty fast after looking at it's condition, smell, and the fact that the previous owner died on it and had been just laying on the floor there for 5 days. But one day...

Black cats? I know one, very shy, but cute. Why? We are talking about... regular cats right? Or is this a metaphor?

Hey Seas, got some questions for you!

What's your favorite hobby? Why?
Are you a good actor?
What do you think of the world we live in?
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?
Do you have a favorite country/place that you want to visit?
If you were alive in the 1660s, would you be a pirate?
Which of the above questions did you not like?

Thoughts on superstition? i.e. tarot cards, zodiac signs, etc.

If you were a fish or any other aquatic creature, what would you be?

Thoughts on life on other planets?

You wake in a cornfield, unable to move your legs, or crawl for that matter. You check your pockets and find a trowel, a deck of cards, and a copy of the extended edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. How do you escape the cornfield? answer quick this is kind of important
double-o-dale, on the case

Sailing, because it's a perfect mix of athleticism, strategy, luck, and just knowing the weather and your boat, followed closely by soccer, gaming, reading, and cycling biking.

I think I'm a pretty good actor. I've been in a few plays (and an opera, though I was, like, 'Little street urchin #2').

The world we live in is great, 'we,' on the other hand, are not so great to it.

Frankly, idgf I have no idea. But this guy made a piece of art about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smd4PIuiV3w

I'd love to visit Norway or Mongolia.

Aye

I didn't not like any, but my least favorite was 3rd one, my answer had me... disheartened.

Complete and utter scuttlebutt, just hogswallop, it is.

An orca, why? Well they are the apex predator of all the oceans, which is most of the world. Not to mention they're extreme intelligence and teamwork. And they look pretty damn cool.

Errrr, there probably is. I don't really worry about it. It'd be cool to find it, but I'm pretty apathetic about it.

I'd eat some corn, read the copy of the extended edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, dig myself a nice comfy hole, and wait for a twister, the army of Gondor, or my death. Why do you ask?
